After working for a little bit on the sword, here's what I've got. This is still work in progress but you can easily recognize the shape of the weapon.
And here's where I want to go one step ahead of other people doing similar things: most people creating things like this will stop at a point where their work is acceptable, while on the other hand I'm obsessed with perfection in every work of art that I create and this will only be delivered when it's absolutely perfect and polished.
I've always loved this sword but I never had the idea of modelling it in 3D, but Weaponsmith came around and asked me to make the model. When he asked me to create the first tsurugi I immediately became excited at this new challenge.
Also, as you can see, the second blade of the sword doesn't have a grip yet, since it's work in progress right now.
Later, the sword will be textured (so the paper model will be painted) through a technology that will paint a lot of detail into the weapon without increasing the complexity of the paper folds themselves.
